Made for Dell PowerEdge and PowerVault systems, the Dell 341-8497 gives you 300 GB of capacity in a 2.5 inch SFF (small form factor) package. It runs at 10,000 RPM and links to the controller over a SAS 6Gb/s interface. The drive is hot swappable, so it can be installed or replaced while the system keeps running. It has a 64 MB cache buffer.
SAS is designed for data center duty, where storage has to stay online around the clock and serve many users at once.
