The N458-001-62 is a 62.5/125 micron LC male to SC female fiber adapter cable that lets you keep using your installed SC fiber cabling when you move to newer switches with LC type SFP or GBIC transceivers. Plug the LC male end into the new switch, then connect your existing SC cables to the SC female end. There is no need to replace your whole fiber plant.
If your installation uses 50/125 micron cable, the matching model is N458-001-50. The adapter is also offered in LC/ST and LC/SC versions in both 62.5/125 and 50/125 micron. Tripp Lite covers its cables with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
