This media converter turns a fiber signal into copper Ethernet and sends both 48 VDC power and 10/100/1000 Mbps data to a PoE+ device. Copper Cat5e/6 runs top out at 100 meters, so pairing this unit with fiber is the smarter way to cover longer distances to security cameras, VoIP phones, POS kiosks and access control devices.
It extends power and data up to 550 m (1,804 ft) over LC multimode fiber, with international power cables included. PoE also spares you from buying and installing a separate power supply for each device and lets you place devices far from outlets, such as on poles or ceilings.
Automatic speed sensing, full/half duplex auto-detection and auto MDI/MDI-X keep setup simple, six LEDs show power, PoE, Ethernet and fiber link status, and Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) keeps link status in sync across ports. The compact metal unit needs no software or drivers and runs on the included AC power supply.
