The Fluke Networks FiberLert (FIBERLERT-125) is a pocket size live fiber detector for 1.25 mm ferrules such as LC, listed as an optical power meter. It quickly checks fiber activity, polarity and connectivity on patch cords and ports, singlemode or multimode, with UPC or APC polish from 850 to 1625 nm, using a non-contact detector that will not contaminate the end face. The LightBeat LED shows it is on with good battery, and it turns off after five minutes idle. Two AAA batteries (included) last up to a year. It has a 2 year limited warranty.
