The HPE 661069-B21 is a 512MB Flash Backed Write Cache (FBWC) module for P-series Smart Array controllers in HPE ProLiant Gen8 servers. Compared with the older Battery Backed Write Cache design, it copies cache contents to NAND flash during an outage, with super-capacitors providing the power, so it does not depend on a battery.
