Made for HPE ProLiant Gen8, Gen9 and Gen10 servers, the HPE 693651-001 gives you 1.2 TB of enterprise class capacity in a 2.5 inch SFF (small form factor) package. It runs at 10,000 RPM and links to the controller over a dual port SAS 6Gb/s interface. The drive is hot swappable, so it can be installed or replaced while the system keeps running. It comes mounted in an HPE Smart Carrier.
SAS is designed for data center duty, where storage has to stay online around the clock and serve many users at once.
About the Smart Carrier: status icons and an animated ring on the tray show what the drive is doing, a blue locator light can be turned on remotely so you pull the right tray, and a warning icon on the release button lights up if removing the drive would lose data.
