Made for HPE ProLiant Gen8, Gen9 and Gen10 servers, the HPE 697578-003-SC gives you 1.2 TB of enterprise class capacity in a 2.5 inch SFF (small form factor) package. It runs at 10,000 RPM and links to the controller over a SAS 6Gb/s interface. It comes mounted in an HPE Smart Carrier.
Use it where fast response matters: OLTP and other database workloads, large scale analytics, and HPC clusters.
About the Smart Carrier: status icons and an animated ring on the tray show what the drive is doing, a blue locator light can be turned on remotely so you pull the right tray, and a warning icon on the release button lights up if removing the drive would lose data.
