The HPE 759559-001 is a Smart Array P542D mezzanine RAID controller with 2GB of flash backed write cache (FBWC). It is a PCIe 3.0 x8 card with four ports running 12Gb/s SAS, made for HPE Synergy 480, 620, 660 and 680 Gen9 compute modules.

- Eight external and eight internal physical links across four ports
- Also supports the HPE Apollo 6500 chassis with ProLiant XL270d servers, running RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and 10 ADM on all eight internal drives
- Works with internal zoned or direct attached SAS and SATA drives, and with drives in the HPE Synergy D3940 Storage Module
- HBA mode supports software defined storage such as Microsoft Storage Spaces and VMware Virtual SAN when used with D3940 Storage Modules
- Optional HPE SmartCache adds read and write acceleration
- Optional HPE Secure Encryption for data at rest on attached drives
- Switch RAID levels while online with FBWC protection, plus global online spare, early drive failure alerts and predictive spare activation
- Pair it with a D3940 Storage Module and an HPE Synergy 12Gb SAS Connection Module to map a logical JBOD to a compute module
- Configured with HPE Smart Storage Administrator, included in Intelligent Provisioning
