This 3 meter (9.8 ft) StarTech.com aqua patch cord uses 850 nm laser optimized multimode fiber (LOMMF), OM3 grade, with a 50/125 micron core. It delivers fast, high bandwidth transfers on 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel networks and is a natural pick for runs between backbone switches, hubs, routers and other high end network equipment.
The LC to LC cable sits inside a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) flame retardant jacket that limits smoke, toxicity and corrosion under high heat or fire, so it suits industrial sites, central offices, schools and homes where building codes apply. Each cable is individually tested and certified to stay within acceptable optical insertion loss limits. An aramid sheath surrounds the 50/125 fiber, which is optimized for an effective bandwidth of at least 2000 MHz·km at 850 nm with a VCSEL source.
