The SFP10GAOC5M is a Cisco SFP-10G-AOC5M compatible SFP+ active optical cable that is designed, programmed and tested to work with Cisco 10 Gb servers and routers and meets MSA industry standards. It carries 10 GbE between SFP+ (Mini-GBIC) ports and is hot-swappable for upgrades and replacements with minimal downtime.
Compared with SFP+ copper DAC cables, this AOC is lighter and more flexible, so it is easier to route in tight spaces and over longer runs. Low power and low latency make it a good fit for in-rack and across-rack links between switches and servers. It also works with uncoded switches such as Ubiquiti, D-Link, Netgear, Supermicro and TP-Link.
