This converter is an easy, affordable way to extend your network over Gigabit fiber. Its included multimode transceiver turns a copper RJ45 connection into Gigabit fiber to reach farther or link workstations to switches, making it useful for campuses, businesses, government sites and stadiums. It reaches 550 m (1800 ft) over LC multimode fiber and has a durable metal housing.
It works with 10/100/1000Base-T networks and auto-negotiates to bridge different speeds. It supports IEEE 802.3, jumbo frames up to 9K, full duplex and auto MDI/MDI-X, runs on 3.75 W from the included 5V DC adapter or a chassis supply (no PoE), and can be used standalone or mounted on a wall, rack, DIN rail (ADJDINKIT) or chassis (MCM7-MEDIA-CHASSIS, MCM15-MEDIA-CHASSIS). It is TAA compliant.
