This 15 meter (49.2 ft) StarTech.com OM4 duplex patch cable provides reliable LC to LC connections on 40 and 100 Gigabit networks. Its Erika Violet jacket follows the TIA color standard for OM4, so it is easy to tell apart from aqua OM3 or OM4 cabling in a busy rack. A compact uniboot connector design makes it easy to plug in and remove in high density setups.
The laser optimized multimode fiber (LOMMF) is suited to 850 nm VCSEL and LED sources. Precision ceramic ferrules hold the fibers in accurate alignment to keep insertion loss low, and the UPC polished ends offer better return loss than older PC polishing.
The OFNR (optical fiber nonconductive riser) flame retardant jacket is designed to limit vertical flame spread between floors, supporting fire code compliance in riser spaces and vertical shafts of multi story commercial buildings. The 50/125 µm fiber is backward compatible with OM3 and with 1, 10 and 40 Gbps networks. Every cable is tested to verify it performs within strict optical insertion loss limits.
