The StarTech USB31000S adds a Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port to a laptop or desktop through USB 3.0 Type-A, reaching full Gigabit bandwidth that USB 2.0 adapters cannot. It has a built in cable, is bus powered and works in USB 2.0 and 1.x ports at lower speed. It handles jumbo frames, tagged VLANs and wake on LAN, and is TAA compliant. Listed systems include Windows XP through 11, Windows Server 2003 to 2022, macOS 10.6 to 13, ChromeOS and Linux.
