The StarTech USB31000S2 adds a Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port to a laptop or desktop through a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) Type-A port, which suits newer laptops without a built in port or replaces a failed one. It has a built in 11.8 inch cable, is bus powered, uses the Realtek RTL8153 chipset and works with Cat5 through Cat6a cable at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. It also works in USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports at lower speed.
